I have attached a picture where you can see my AE plugged into the wall socket in the far left. So AE>optical cable>Dac>interconnects>amp You would then run interconnects directly from your dac into your amplifier, creating a wifi enabled system for all apple devices including itunes. The AE is a separate box that would connect via a toslink optical cable directly into your dac. If you was looking for a all in one box solution, I'd recommend both the Yamaha and the Marantz as both are great but I sold My Marantz Melody and replaced it with an apple AE, chord mojo and a separate amplifier. If your CD player has an optical input, you could use the built in dac and connect directly to the AE. Just as an alternative, you could get yourself an external dac and an AE, something likeĪrcam irDac ii and use an AE to feed an optical cable directly, and also has bluetooth for other devices.ĬA Dacmagic is another great Dac at a great price. You already have amplification so you really are better off spending money on things you require.Īlso AE can be picked up for silly money on auction sites (paid £21 for a 1st gen and using it for multi room with some active Kef Eggs) The Yamaha is a great little amplifier as is the Marantz but your spending money on amplification which you would not be using. ![]() No apple product uses APTX (which is the latest bluetooth designed for streaming) People keep on saying that blue tooth is comparable to airplay and dlna streaming but This is not the case. AE receives bitperfect data so if your ipad has a lot of apple lossless files, you will not lose any quality. I personally use an optical feed directly from the AE to my dac which decodes the signal. The AE has a built in Dac so your music is sent from your ipad/iphone digitally via wifi, I have never used the dac in the AE. TROND Bluetooth TV Transmitter Receiver Adapter with: .uk: Computers & AccessoriesĪnd one of these (or shorter or longer) and off you go.įisual Pro Install Series 3.5mm Jack To Phono Cable 2m - By Brand - AudioVisual Online - Home Cinema and Hifi Specialists ![]() It is also very good indeed with the same from my iphone 7 through the Bluetooth that's built in and my tv is played through the analogue input.īut, better again if you want the least expensive means of doing what you require, would be one of these, I,have my MacBook Pro' optical out feeding it apple lossless and it's quite excellent. I'm using it into three grands worth of active Adams and the sound quality is impressive. I suppose if you have a couple of grands worth of hyper revealing speakers and equally splendid amps then Bluetooth would be questionable.īetter still would be a streamer. I'd not bother with any wired result today.Ī good quality Bluetooth receiver will sort you out and the sound quality is quite good indeed.
